Responsibilities
As a junior video editor, you will play an important role in supporting the senior video editor and the overall video production process. Your responsibilities may vary depending on the specific requirements of the organization or production team, but here's a comprehensive list of common junior video editor responsibilities:
1. **Footage Organization:** Assist in organizing and managing video assets, including raw footage, audio files, and graphics, in an orderly and accessible manner.
2. **Video Editing:** Perform basic video editing tasks, such as cutting, trimming, and arranging clips to create a rough assembly of the video.
3. **Transitions and Effects:** Add basic transitions and visual effects as directed by the senior video editor or the project's requirements.
4. **Audio Editing:** Assist in editing and syncing audio files, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to the video footage.
5. **Media Ingestion:** Transfer and import media from various sources, such as cameras and external drives, into the editing software.
6. **Color Correction:** Assist in basic color correction tasks to ensure consistent and accurate colors throughout the video.
7. **File Conversion and Compression:** Help with converting and compressing video files into the required formats for different platforms or distribution channels.
8. **Quality Assurance:** Review video edits and check for any technical issues or errors, such as audio discrepancies or visual glitches.
